updated: Chief's win 1st Annual Pot of Gold Challenge

The Chiefs pulled off a great victory this past weekend in Daegu. The final score was 8-5 with goals coming from Steve Hawkins,Aaron Geddes,Karl,Craig(2),Lee Wong,Michele and Lexi. A really good team game and a really good battle.

In a freak collision behind the net, Spark managed to break his leg in two spots. He was sent back to Seoul by ambulance and remains in the Soon Jung Hyang, Hanam hospital, room 819. He doesn't need surgery and will be getting out this Saturday. He will be ok.

I'd like to say thank you to the Daegu Thunderbirds for another well hosted game. Every time we play it is a battle and a tight game. Those who went down on Friday had a good night I know and I hear Saturday was a BLAST. Some getting in around 8 am..ouchy
I'm sure there will be no problem filling a roster to go down again at some point. I think it's time to host them though. It'd be great if we could get a Saturday evening or even Saturday morning ice time.

Three Stars for the game:
3) Lexi, empty netter! Sealed the deal
2) Craig, 2 goals!
1) Lee, short handed, fired us WAY up!
Spark gets the "rats" award...star spelled backwards...

Daejeon has invited us down to play. Possible ice times: Saturday night 12am -2am or Sunday Morning 8-10am. I'm interested in playing. Who else would be interested? Nothing is set in stone.. just gaging the overall interest level for another road trip.

New Nicknames: As any long timer with the chiefs know, we tend to give out nicknames to our players. Some of the wiser chiefs (Clarkie not included) decided to dub our young goalie James: Dick or Richard.. we'll see which ones catches on faster..

that's it for now.. hope everyone goes to see Spark and bring him some good homecooked food! ie a pita etc... let's support our own!

You live by the goonery, you die by the goonery! Sparky, you have to stop gooning it up all the time! Sorry to hear about your leg, and I wish you a speedy recovery. Guess that put a bit of a damper on the old batting 1.000, eh?

Hey sparky's leg looks fine in that picture! What a faker! He's a phoney.

In different news, next games 'skill' juice will be extra calcium milk.
