scenario 1: tacos win both games on sunday - the hawks and the maglers will then play a 'first goal wins' game before the finals. loser goes home and winner stays on to play the finals.
scenario 2 - tacos lose both games on sunday - one team advances on goal differential and the other two teams will play a 'first goal wins' game to move on to the finals.
it would be great if one of those two scenarios came to be.
I guess that provides incentive for someone to win, doesn't it? Come out and lose a "first goal wins" game in the first 5 minutes... That would HAVE to suck!!!

How about just doing it all by goal differential or anything else. I have trouble getting my team to come to real games, I don't think many would come to that. With my luck we would only have five players show up and then win the mini game.

No way Tommy!!!! That puts the MANGLERS at a big disadvantage! Ha, ha, ha!!! Geez, one bad weekend in nets, and we're WAYYYYYY behind... I think it would be a problem to get a whole team out for a very SHORT stint of a game... How about a 20 minute game, with a shoot-out if tied?

If you look in previous posts you will note that the rules were established before the tournament began.
Still, we could change it up a bit and make it the best out of three goals as opposed to first goal wins. At the rate we are scoring goals it shouldn't take too long.
So if there is a tie than it will be a short game of first team to two goals
It would be hard to do that the option you mentioned Rene (which is a good idea) due to Ice time. The final game would then have be to be shortened to accomadate the scenario you proposed.. The GA is not good either due to the fact that it does put hte Manglers at a big disadvantage. As much as I would like to see them lose, the tournament has been pretty balanced so far and I'd personally like to see the status quo continue.

Anyways, best two out of three would be better. Or even, have the game after our games on this Sunday. But, I think it is too late to change things. So, let the pucks fall where they may.

It's a factor that kinda seems to be out of our control... maybe the brain trust of our tribal council might come up with something.. I think every team is shorthanded...
We were down three the first game, four the seconde game, and it appears that it might be going up to five for the next game. I made some risky choices in the draft. I was hoping that they would show up and pay off, or at least pay up. Next time, I think we should get some money from people before the draft, like a 50% deposit.

Good Idea, I think all teams are having trouble with the payment issue. More of a hardline should've been taken I think. It was posted about the payment issue when the tourney came together. All the skaters should've have payed ,beforethe 1st game or after the 1st game no exceptions. So, in part this is the Captains fault for not enforcing the rule that was put down. I'm just tired of hearing that people don't pay. If we don't nip it in the bud now we'll just end up losing money that could be used for something worthwhile.
Wow, this is why I don't post much. I am offended that you would say the captians are at fault. I guess I should have drafted people who don't get injured and who show up, not just say they will.

You know, if I could delete the above message, I might. The problem that I am talking about is with people not showing up. It isn't a problem with people showing up and not paying. That just happens on the week days.

So, Sunday will determine a lot of things... For one, there may be no need to worry, as there COULD be a clear #1 and #2 team playing off for bragging rights and a HUGE trophy. If not, I like the first team to 2 goals format proposed by Seabass. As for those who've paid or not, how many players are we talking about??? Let's hope we have no financial problems! I'm just pumped up to play on Sunday!

I'm not saying the Captains are at fault.. I didn't pay attention to what I was writing. In terms of people not showing up and obviously not paying than it's nobody's fault but the person who didn't show up. It's hard to tell who wouldn't show up during the draft period. I think all the teams are affected by this. It's something that is always going to happen. But maybe the idea of the deposit before the draft might prove to be an incentive to show up. It's something that will have to be discussed before the spring tourney. So we can try and prevent it from happening again. As for Sunday, it'll be the old man's last Tourney with the Chiefs, so it'll be extra special when the Manglers fall hard.
What???? Cory Day is playing in his last Chiefs tourney??? Why? Ha, ha, ha!!! I know, I know, this will be my last tourney with the Chiefs, as I'll be back in Canada when the spring battle heats up. I'm going to miss it, but going out with the Manglers' name on the trophy will be sweeeeeeeet!

i'm curious. who hasn't paid yet? i think everyone on the tacos has paid - all except daniel s. who hasn't played one game yet...
as for numbers nobody has had the small numbers we had last week. we had 1 dman and 2 forward subs last week. i wonder who will show up this week???
I don't know of any who have not paid up on the Manglers. Some have paid LATE, let's not confuse that with NOT PAID!!
We're still all a happy Chiefs family...I'm sure any differences, or feelings of loss can all be resolved over the 13 kegs of beer on the 11 of November.

I still have to collect from 2 individuals, one of whom was away last weekend. Of course, Grigory hasn't paid yet, because he wasn't in the country. All in all, the Manglers were easy to collect from, and that's the way I like it.
Now, if we can just win our next game to make the playoffs...
