THE SOJU KETTLE CUP

The big weekend is coming up quick and it should be a good one! We have 6 confirmed teams which is actually perfect for the tournament. We will have 2 refs (1 Korean and 1 Foreign) for each game with a scorekeeper operating the scoreboard. Water and pucks will be supplied at each game. We are still waiting for approval to have a BBQ outside the rink where food and booze will be offered at a cost. ONCE AGAIN....NO SMOKING OR ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION INSIDE THE BUILIDING! Please help to make this tournament work well by following these two simple rules. 

Banquet:

The banquet will be held at Beer O'clock (Sinchon Station – Line 2 near Hongdae) starting at 5pm. The bar itself will be open at 1pm for those that want to get going early.

T-Bone's Last Game Roster

First of all, thanks for signing up ! This should be a fun day of skating and a few drinks. There's no better way to go out as a Chief.

Summer Sizzler and Blue Wings game

The Chiefs recently finished up their Summer Sizzler with "Jesse's Girls" winning for the second time in a row. It was a short Sizzler this summer but it did make for a month of better hockey.
Wednesday July 29th the Chiefs hosted a game with the Korean team "Blue Wings". This was a great game and went back and forth for the full hour and saw the Blue Wings come up on top with a score of 10-8. We will set up a game on their Tuesday 9-11pm ice time in the near future.

CHIEFS SPRING FLING 2009

Ok folks !! Roster and schedule is set!! This is not an easy process to try and make three even teams. It is now up to you to commit to this tourney and make great games. Trust me, your team would rather have you show up hungover than not at all.

You will be playing everyday until May, and one team will play 2 games on a Sunday. May 3rd is an off day ALTHOUGH there is still hockey, just not a tourney game. (although we don't have May's ice times yet..but should be a go) The tournament fee will be 65 000 per player. ( I know I said the cost wouldn't go up...but we moved from 2 teams to 3) PAY your Captain SUNDAY!!

Ok, let's get fired up for this boys and girl !! Please be ON TIME ..no, please BE EARLY...having teams ready will be key for this to run well with 2 games in one Sunday. Games will start regardless of who's ready..including goalies.

Team Angola won the 2008 Chiefs Fall Fling by a score of 6-3.

This was another fun successful tourney and we look forward to see who will hoist the cup in the spring.

The after party will be in Sinchon and Hongdae. Dinner is at Manmi Jib behind the Hyundai Department store at 6pm. We will eat and drink there for a couple hours then go to Janes Groove in Hongdae. (basement of RMT building)

Our ice times have not been given to us yet, but I think it's safe to assume that this Wednesday the 1st is no problem from 9 to 11pm. The following Sunday there is NO ice time. So the next should be the 8th.
This is a busy week for the Chiefs. Hosting their first international tournament! It's a mini tournament, but tournament non the less! The puck drops early at 8am on Friday morning however the Chiefs have always been used to early ice.The next and final day games go from 12pm to 4pm. Geckos,Incheon and Tokyo will join us and lets hope everything runs smoothly and we all can have a blast. If you are around and wish to have a look at the action feel free to drop by. We could use some support.

Hi Chiefs,

The Incheon Iceholes would like to play us this Sunday August 10th, 12-pm-2pm.

Our numbers have been pretty low so we're hoping that a game will bring people out. As always, it's first come, first served. We don't stack teams but we play to win (or should I say, we try a little harder in the last five minutes of the game).

These are the first 16 players and goalie to sign up for the game. We realize that more players have signed up, but we don't have any more room, sorry. As for a second goalie, I don't know anything about that (you should contact Marc if you want more info.) The good news is that we have all our Wednesday evening ice times.

Road Trip!

I finally nailed down a date for the Chief's first road trip in 2008. We will travel via KTX to play the Daejeon Moose, an expat team much like ourselves. We will leave July 4th in the evening (probably 9 o'clock or a bit before) and head on down there. Their ice time is at 10:30 that night. We will get a hotel, stay the night and then head back to Seoul sometime on Saturday (time yet to be determined). Tuesday June 17th Game

Hey Chiefs,
We have been asked to join in a game vs a Korean team that plays in Mokdong on Tuesday nights. They have a couple of foreigners that have played with us before and Jim has asked to set up a game. The game is Tuesday June 17th from 9-11pm. They are not a real strong team so we don't need to go in to this too seriously folks. They're just looking for an entertaining game. As are we...
All those interested email back, and the roster will be posted here. Note there WILL be Chiefs hockey the next night at 9pm as well. And this Sunday is an early one at 8am, should be good! That's old school Chiefs hockey !!

The Chiefs had another successful BBQ this spring . Our hosts Michel and Maria did their place up super nice and the weather was great! All who showed up had a blast and thanks to our hosts once again.
